I assume it's a buncha dudes playing minecraft, but I would imagine there's more to it since it's THAT popular and people keep talking about lore and stuff

also this is the same dream that cheated, right? I guess that didn't really undercut his momentum?

I might get a lot of this wrong, but I think it was a challenge series where Dream would try to speedrun Minecraft, but had people hunting him down to try and slow down his progress. Then I think the fans latched on and started coming up with lore for it as the attempts continued.

Well at this point it's just a collaborative server populated by a variety of popular content creators, yeah?

And those have been around for ages. MindCrack was the first big one that I was aware of and it's just a good way to have a shared environment so all the creators can be enriched from the crossover exposure from the other fanbases.

Nah, this is an actual consistent multiplayer server that people stream and make videos from. Those other challenge videos were always from fresh seeds
