Like if you have enough, can you raise an amount more than the remainder of your opponent(s)' bankroll and just win the hand because they are financially unable to call?

If I currently only have $100, another person has $200, and you have $200, any bet that goes over $100 goes to a side pot among just players who can continue to bid.
Hypothetically you could lose a hand and still come out ahead because of a side pot. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

of course not.
if two players are involved, the bigger stack going all in is the same as betting the smaller stack. A:1000 B:400 A goes all in and B calls. A has 1400 after a win, 600 after a loss. it's exactly the same as a 400 bet. but when there are more than two players it gets more relevant. A:1000 B:600 C:400 A goes all in. if B or C call, then it's just like above. but if both call then C can win 400 from both A and B with a win, B can win 600 from A and 400 from B, and A can win everything from both players, even though they risked different amounts than each other. also, if C wins, then the extra 200 from B is compared to A like above. --- Boom! The no limit is in reference to the bet size. It differs from other poker games where the max bet size is limited.
As others have already said, its a table stakes game so the only thing that plays is whats on the table. If a player has more chips than another and bets it all the person with the fewer chips will have to call their entire stack to remain eligible for the pot while the person with more will get the remainder back no matter what happens in the hand. --- ************************************************ https://imgur.com/iZdWIKJ ... Imagine if this is how it worked, Jeff Bezos could destroy poker forever. As someone that plays a ton of poker, even though it isnt how it works, people with a lot of money can destroy very good poker players. A lot of higher stakes games have buy ins that are either uncapped or like 1000bbs. I have seen good reg players get very uncomfortable in hands with people that are much worse than them but dont care about the money. In the 2019 WSOP I was at the Wynn playing 5-10nl and someone had $60k on the table. Not sure how they got it all but most regs or pros buy in for 1-2k at that game. The guy would open every hand $200-500 and it really made people crack. In the poker world you hear stories about these games but seeing it in person was crazy. --- ************************************************ https://imgur.com/iZdWIKJ ... Copied to Clipboard!
