I want you to testify!

Another solid lineup of winners! I feel like Polly is the definitive witness for the series for many reasons. It helped elevate the series to memetic levels. The others are great though. I almost want to give Emeer a pity vote just because I know he has no chance.

These are all great but Dahlia and Sebastian are top tier.

I definitely think all 3 OT options are stronger than everything else here! Those 3 are truly iconic in their own way. I just love how Dahlia is incorporated in 3-5, but maybe that's because I didn't catch on that Maya is summoning her.

After the OT options is probably Emeer. I love that guy. Debeste is really solid, but I really wish he had more of a presence in E2-5 after he goes his own way.

Yeah, I didn't catch onto that in 3-5 either until they literally asked "Who is channeling Dahlia Hawthorne right now?"

I just thought Polly would kind of run away with it.

Why
The only surprising result is Blackquill being a little low but that's it

Polly is pretty iconic, but the actual testimony is over with pretty quickly! After the initial punch and the 0001 comment, that's all there is to see.

Sticking with de Killer. His testimony manages to somehow both be incredibly tense and also hilarious at the same time.

Pretty great choices all around though.

I think my favorite thing about the testimony is that, despite how absurd it is, von Karma still retrained her just in case.

I think de Killer has the single most tense moment in the series when you have the option to press him when he's starting to get angry and it's the correct move, but I was legitimately nervous to do so.

Also "pick the evidence you present and pick the person you present it to" is one of my favorite evidence presenting moments because the open-endedness makes it feel more satisfying(even though it's not actually difficult to figure out)

Honestly, I'm kind of surprised that people didn't immeditately notice that. There's only so many people that can channel spirits relevant to the case, and only Maya is unaccounted for at that point.

I feel like a lot of Ace Attorney twists can fall into that where if you spend a few minutes really thinking it through, it becomes clear what it must be. As they say, once you eliminate the impossible, only the possible remains.

As a player, I tend to live pretty in-the-moment and it works pretty well for Ace Attorney. I rarely predict twists before they occur and that one is a pretty solid example. I think it makes for a more enjoyable experience.

Yeah there are some times that when you realize something just when you are supposed to it feel much more "holy shit.." than if you discovered it yourself by thinking about it. Because it catch you by surprise.
3-5 "Who is Channeling Dahlia Hawthorne" is a good example
Another fantastic one is 6-5 realizing that Dhurke was dead all along

I think the reason it catches people off guard is because Dahlia is initially introduced as Iris, so at first, you don't have reason to suspect that she is Dahlia, so you don't suspect that there's someone who needs to be channeling her, either. The reveal of Iris being Dahlia in disguise is a huge enough reveal on its own that it functions as a sleight of hand that keeps you from asking the real question - "wait, how is it POSSIBLE for dahlia to be here?" It's just not a question that comes up unless you're thinking about it, or until the game brings it up for you. It's really well done.
