So I was over at a friend's house and played the game Days Gone. I liked it. I usually don't play games like that can finding myself normally to the crpg stuff.

I was wondering if anyone knows a game similar to that kind of zombie survival where you actually have sort of a base and are helping to rebuild the world. Like as the game progresses your base or village kind of spreads out and maybe you get to make a another area.

I haven't played it myself, but maybe Fallout 4.

I hear that there's a n emphasis on building on your settlement.

Right, right. Fallout 4 certainly has base building. So something similar to that.

Even the Far Cry series has the outposts which you can capture.

I've never played a Zombie game and liked the suspense.

So I guess the Fallout 4 mechanic but zombie style.

I looks like the in production game Dying Light 2 has this but the first does not.

If you have a pc maybe 7daystodie? They have servers with mods and you can play with other people where you can build communities to fight against zombie hordes and shit.

Not a building game, but I'm half tempted to play Day Z. It looks to be madness.

State of Decay 2 was a nice recommendation. On Gamepass too.

Yeah that's more about the neverending search for materials but I like it.

As someone else said, Dying Light is a great open world zombie game but it doesn't have base building.

Project Zomboid is 100 percent about looking for loot and materials and 100 percent is all about building a great base, but the graphics are an acquired taste. Just had a popularity boost too for some reason. Kind of weird for a game that's 8 years old and still being worked on.

Night of the Dead (early access on Steam) looks like it has some potential to be good.
