Do you grind your own peppercorns?

I recently started using a pepper mill and peppercorns and I like it better than the preground pepper.

I've got 3 pepper grinders (1 with rainbow peppercorns, 2 black), 3 salt grinders (2 with Himalayan salt, 1 with violet salt), 1 combo salt/pepper grinder (with rainbow pepper & sea salt), 1 grinder with cinnamon & sugar, and 1 with salt and dried tomatoes, garlic, peppercorns, basil, bell pepper, and red onion.

The combo grinder is rather interesting as you can use it one-handed and you select what you're grinding by rotating the handle.

Yep, been doing it for a while.

Had a store one I had been using for a few years (those ones made of plastic that are "one time use"), but it recently broke. I bought a better one that is adjustable so I can use coarse ground for cooking and fine ground for table purposes.

You can get really nice pepper grinders from a restaurant supply store for a LOT cheaper than the big box stores.

I got the larger of these three for $25 from Hockenbergs, and it usually runs about $75+ at stores like Bed Bath & Beyond. It's 17 inches (43 cm) long, and when you pull this thing out at a dinner party, your guests know you're serious about pepper.

Generally the only pre-ground pepper I use is white, because finding white peppercorns is actually pretty difficult. And white pepper is usually only good for certain recipes where black pepper would look bad (white cream sauces, etc)

I honestly don't think I have ever seen pre-ground white pepper. Only way I have been able to buy them are in tiny grinder bottles like this:

Check your local asian store, that's where I got my preground white pepper in bulk.
