Heat would be something like being left in a hot car or something similar.

Cold, well, pretty self explanatory, cold weather.

Oh, and I guess I would pick cold.

Cold would be way better. You go numb and then drift off.

With the heat you suffer and burn until you suffocate more or less.

Reading accounts from people who got lost on mountains and froze unconscious, it sounds like freezing is just like falling asleep. The pain from frostbite apparently doesn't begin until they're revived. So I choose that.
