The biggest hospital chain in the area is Catholic-run, and will not cover birth control under its regular plans. Female employees need to pay for an additional separate plan through another provider, that still doesn't fully cover BC like most normal health plans.

Birth control has more usage than just keeping people having sex outside of wedlock from getting pregnant. It can regulate their hormones and prevent other medical issues.

Would people be ok with an employer not covering pulmonologists? Or a Jehovah's Witness owned employer not providing healthcare at all?

Of course its not right. They just use their religion as an excuse to discriminate and save some money.

I really wish religion didnt get all these special privileges.

Name one other group in the country who is legally allowed to discriminate against people while simultaneously being protected from discrimination themselves under law.

I don't know the exact reasoning for this, but older male employees also struggle with getting that insurance to cover their testosterone meds.

Just seems like a hot mess of a company. And I've been considering finding a hospital pharmacy job since retail sucks, but I may look at other companies.
