If you have done something and it's not on your to-do list, add that badboy on there and check it off.
If you have a task, break it into sub tasks, that way you can check off subgoals as you go. For me, the trick to having an actually productive day is ensuring I feel some initial momentum. --- =E[(x-E[x])(y-E[y])] ... Copied to Clipboard!

I learned this trick in one of my first ever high responsibility jobs and it's stuck for me pretty well.
First step: fuck off with the endless to-do list. You'll have 80 things on that list with no sense of priority or timings and you'll always feel overwhelmed and unproductive. Instead, identify 10 of those things you feel need to be addressed first. Separate them into 4 categories, in this order:
Now, identify maximum 5 of those things. Put them in order. Now schedule them, literally into your day. Approximate the time, give yourself space. At the end of the day, if you tick off 3 of your most important issues, you'll feel HEAPS more productive than if you did a couple of the most pointless but easy tasks from your endless to-do list. It's actually pretty amazing because you'll go from making hundreds of emails and phone calls in a day and feeling stressed to just doing the 2 or 3 calls that matter and feeling accomplished. --- CE's Resident Scotsman. https://imgur.com/ILz2ZbV ...
