these letters represent words, and the translation I'm looking for is a pretty straightforward message that explains the code itself

Thank you for clarifying for me.

Sorry, nope. 'Chalk' is not in the message.

But in thinking about it some more, I've decided that Robot2600 is right and there's just not enough information provided to reasonably expect anyone to get it. That being the case, I'll give the first hint for free while retaining the full $100 reward. The 11th number cluster is a 4 by itself -- that corresponds to the letter (and word) 'a', but that is the only time in this message that the letter 'a' is represented by a '4'. Will that be enough to give it away? Dunno.

I'm not sure anybody will be able to get it from the one hint, so I may not give away $100. But I assume I'll at least end up giving away the $50 from the title after another hint or two.

Okay okay, still unfair? A second hint, still retaining $100 prize. Can't beat that value. 10 of these number clusters represent words that are used twice in the message. Errr, trying to phrase that unambiguously. There are 5 words in the message that are used twice, making up 10 of the number clusters in total.

idk, I feel at this point like it's very possible but I could be wrong

How would you feel about making this 'bet' more interesting? You get 48 hours, and I'll reward you with $150 if you solve it. If you fail to do so in time, you will owe me $25. Bet is nullified if someone else solves it beforehand or if upon reveal you believe the code isn't internally consistent.

I agree under the following circumstances:
  1. You will reveal the answer when it's over if I fail, you can't be like "no trust me it's a real thing"
  2. It is something that you believe to be solvable, it isn't some np-complete thing where literally the only way to solve it is a brute force that takes N!! time.

I mean I could definitely ask you 1 or 2 questions, the answers to which would be extremely helpful. Like if I have the first word or not or questions about the lengths of the words. (But these would go against the bet)

I should have started it a little later because I often work late so it's basically finish it tonight or bust.

I'm doing it now though. Hopefully I get it.

I will answer one thing because it was something I intended to convey with an earlier hint but I think I didn't do so properly. When I said it was a 'straightforward message' what I think I meant was that it wasn't anything I considered particularly unusual in terms of words or word length. The average length of the words in English is a little above 4, a touch short of the average English word length but more or less standard. I mention that because it was something I intended to convey but probably didn't do so properly, so as far as I'm concerned it's not providing an additional hint. If that helps any.

I feel like it's more fun if you know my thought process, even if that means I might get sniped:

There are 25 "words" and because none of them are the same numbers but there are repeated words that means whatever you are doing to the numbers changes either letter to letter or word to word.

So I made a script to find words of the same numeric length to try to find ones I think are the same word.
['39159', '19339'] seem very similar and if we knew they were the same word we might be able to infer the transformation going on.

['4218243', '4721948'] also seem similar.

In total these are the words organized into groups of the same number of digits:
5 ['39159', '19339']
11 ['27140413510', '51831171136']
4 ['2911', '1938', '6297', '3012', '5132']
8 ['41161737']
7 ['4218243', '4721948']
10 ['1243133749', '1320441628', '4611274526']
12 ['231444451538', '262249502339']
1 ['4']
9 ['455244217']
6 ['187620', '444121', '108942', '313124', '522225']
19 ['4019334320304621825']

Because we know 4 = A in one instance it is likely you are applying some kind of letter by letter or word by word transformation. Since you think it's guessable it is likely something not too obtuse, so I'm thinking per character or per word simple addition or multiplication.

Since you said the approximate word length to be more than 4 but less than average, and the average is 4.7 that means the average length is between 4 and 4.7, and since the average length of the number strings is 7.48 that means the average number to character conversion is between 1.87 and 1.5915

It's worth noting that a base 26 cipher generates an average of 5.48 characters per "word" so this is too high.

It's likely that the word "the" appears within the sequence, perhaps even twice:
2911 seems like a likely candidate because 2905 is a reverse 26 bit cipher for "the" but none of the other ones seem that likely. Maybe 3012 because that's 107 off. (which is 26*4+3)

So assuming
2911 = the
and
3012 = the
then it's something like
2911 - 6 = reverse crypto base 26
3012 - 26*4-3 = reverse crypto base 26

Alternatively you can think of that as

Z - 6
H - 0
E - 0

W - 2
L - 4
E - 0

But the issue with this is a reverse cipher produces too many characters so it can't simply be a reverse base 26 with offsets.

The answer is To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid
