I hated going to the laundromat. I know what you mean. What helped me was planning other things to do. Like using the carwash to clean out my car and play music.

Having an in-unit washer and dryer has improved my life quite a bit. Carrying laundry to and from, worrying about getting a dryer, machines eating your coins... it was a source of existential pain and humiliation.
