Do you really want to end up working some demeaning job where you are the only person in your sixties let alone over 40? Living in a sardine box and never being able to do anything?

I already put away enough for retirement. Plus Ill have 2 pensions and social securitys

I mean, I am putting away money for my retirement. But "I'm going to do the things I want to do now, while I'm young and can enjoy them and work another 10-15 years" seems like a valid way to live, especially if you're in a career that you do enjoy.

My father retired in his fifties, he worked in management at a big company and didn't particularly enjoy it. It worked out for him. My father-in-law is an engineer and doesn't plan on retiring any time soon in his sixties and it's working out for him.

Isn't that what insurance is for? I could get the worst form of cancer tomorrow after losing both legs in a car accident during brain surgery and I wouldn't have to pay more than my max out-of-pocket. And I have horrible insurance

And, as old white rich people, they have extremely good insurance

Now in my mind, the harder to achieve or rarer thing should be after "let alone" in sentences like this, but a lot of people seem to feel differently.

It's not so much the treatment for disease, but the assisted living expenses that end up bankrupting people.
