I'll never understand why people like this are so in denial about things like SJWs or cancel culture existing. You have to be incredibly detached from reality to actually think like that.

D. That was the case once, but the sheer amount of unprovoked "anti-SJWs are worse" topics in recent years have tipped the scales. I can't even remember the last time I saw a serious SJW or Anti-SJW post, yet the internet won't shut up about them.

Anti-anti-SJWs are the real enemy.

It's been a term long before it was 'recently' popularized and it's always been filled with weirdos.

Nowadays, people use it as an insult more than anything else, so I get where you're coming from. It's used in the same way the word Nazi is. Nazis used to have meaning, being that it was claimed by one of the most vile, scummiest movements that has ever tainted history. Nowadays, you could ctrl F Twitter for Nazi and 90% of the time it's used the same way SJW is. Namely 'I don't like this person'. Though in the case of SJW, it isn't a negative word kept negative but a positive word turned negative.

Then again, language and slang change as the years go on, so that prolly has something to do with it. If you told me poggers was a thing a few years ago, I'd laugh in your face.

Actually, you know, the Wikipedia article for the term covers it better than I could have.

It used to mean standing up for social issues. Now, as Wikipedia puts it, 'The accusation that somebody is an SJW carries implications that they are pursuing personal validation rather than any deep-seated conviction, and engaging in disingenuous arguments.'

The point of the term Social Justice Warrior is that it's meant to denote someone who is too ardent in their quest for social justice. But bigots appropriated the term and have used it for a buzz word for anyone who doesn't write stories according to pre-Civil Rights standards.

The anti-SJWs are worse because they're bigots who want to see women and minorities kept in check. But the actual social justice warriors -- the people who think it's sexist if a strong woman wears a skirt on the weekend or the type who goes into a lengthy diatribe about how they're sick of white men in movies -- those people can also go eat a bowl of fuck.

It's used so often as a pejorative by the right that I'm on the fence about it. It mostly only exists as the pejorative, even though I've seen crazy shit on the end of the horseshoe from the left, but that's quite rare.

The only people who worry about 'SJWs' are people who hate any change to the status quo.

"Oh no, they're making the main character of this show gay! Why are they FORCING me to TOLERATE this?!"

You can tell who an anti-sjw is by their eternal persecution complex. "I would give my opinion, but it goes against the echo chamber!"

No, like the excellent example provided by the poster above you gave, it's less the social justice part, and more the 'warrior' part.

It's the same thing as championing banning the term 'blind playthrough' because you think it's offensive.

Or the same as that one guy who thought that a Japanese character in an anime with darker skin should 'sound black' because, in their words 'black should sound black'...completely ignoring that the VA was black.

Those types of people can go suck eggs.

By definition, I have no reason to hate social justice warriors. However, I do actively dislike the kinds of people that one might connect "SJW" to, though I likely wouldn't consider them one myself.

Its pretty 50/50 I guess - I mean SJW was always a dumb term but the personality type associated with it is very real & easily the worse of the two atm. That being said if unfunny conservative mongoloids didnt spend an entire presidential term & the election cycle leading up to it basically poking the bear with umm, I actually identify as an attack helicopter?????? triggered! shit (among other things) maybe we wouldnt be in this mess right now.

No, because I don't inherently hate people who are classified as SJWs. Sometimes they have the right of it, and sometimes it's a trivial non-issue. It's just that so much of it fits under the umbrella of the term.

But almost every time, anti-SJWs have just had underlying - but very clear - racist or sexist overreactions.

I don't hate either, but I dislike Anti-SJWs waaaaaaaay more. I think I clicked the wrong poll option by mistake

it's all based on personal experience, but the experiences I have had with what I would call an "Anti-SJW" are INFINITELY worse and 1000 times more aggravating than those I have with an SJW

I can't even really put into words the sheer volume of stupidity I have personally encountered that relates to Anti-SJW stuff rather than SJW stuff (not saying the latter is guilt-free, but again, my own experience)
