Keith Gibson, 39, was tracked down by officers on Tuesday morning about a block away from the drug store where he allegedly pistol-whipped a cashier in Wilmington, news station KYW-TV reported.

Police said the clerk put a GPS tracker in the bag of cash before handing it over to him.

Holy crap. They better give that cashier every promotion possible.

When I worked at a bank, you'd get a bonus if the robber was tracked using a gps that was received from your station... Which means if someone robbed you, and was caught, you'd get some cash.

Kind of fucked up but I thought I'd share.

Stores like that don't like it when you get involved. A firing isn't an impossibility.

Rite Aid is known to fire good employees just because they've been there too long and got too many raises so I wouldn't expect anything significant to happen as a reward.

Thats smart and Id say more stores should do it, but thieves would catch on and look for it before fleeing. They should find a way to build one into what looks like a real dollar bill and then when the employees are putting money into the bag they can slide that one in there. The robber wont notice it.

Philadelphia Chief Inspector Frank Vanore said Gibson had been paroled last year after serving time in prison for a previous slaying in Delaware.

Uh, yeah, what the fuck? This decision led to several innocent people dying. This guy honestly should be removed from Earth. Definitely should not see the light of day because the next time you know he's definitely not going to make the "mistake" of letting a cashier go again
