This was such a weird saga. I've never seen cones just fall off of a truck like that.

Then SAWS, after viewing the video, actually tried to claim they had some kind of immunity. They did they DID secure the cones and weren't negligent in this case. They said they actually DID secure the cones.

They wanted to deny the claim and say they made a "business decision to pay half the damages."

Clearly, the cones weren't secured. I argued that if they were secured, they wouldn't have fallen off. I also argued that they were negligent because again, the cones falling off showed that they weren't secured.

Then they tried to minimize it by saying "Well, it was only that one cone that fell off."

Fortunately, when the incident happened, I decided to move my car in circles around the truck as we drove down the highway to catch every possible camera angle I could. As I was doing that, two more cones fell off in view of the cameras.

I sent them 5 more videos showing multiple cones falling off, and then they agreed to pay the full cost.
