I either throw them in the trash or use them as a rag if I need one.

I wear work boots and I'm on my feet all day, so I get rid of socks as soon as there's any hole and get new ones.

I wear mostly wool socks, so I darn them as needed. Only had to a couple of times, though, as they're very, very good socks. Twenty bucks a pair on average but worth every penny.

No. I try to not even donate stuff that has holes because they probably throw it away anyway. I do donate a lot of stuff, though, so its not like I throw out old (non torn) pants or shirts.

I also like my socks to be not worn out.
