I've only played a little of the P2 that was released for PSX in the US, and I remember liking what I played.

it was refreshing because the protagonist was a reporter instead of a high school student, iirc, and was a young woman instead of a teen...but I think she might have been investigating sometime going on at the local high school, but I could be wrong.

The sad thing is that what we got back in the day was Part 2 of the P2 duology; they completely skipped over Part 1, likely because Hitler (or someone or something that's taking his form) has a major role in it, but Part 1's main cast were high-schoolers, and the main character was a guy; the female MC in the second part was one of his party members in that.

The first part's PSP port was eventually released over here over a decade later, but then they didn't do the same with the PSP version of the second part...

P3 is overrated.
sure, it brings a new life to persona series, but the sequels are better. heck, as a JRPG P2 is stil better than P3. and i keep rolling my eyes whenever someone say P3 story is the best because the MC dies in the end

Nope. For me, the top 3 would be

1. Persona 4
2. Persona 5
3. Persona 3

And that's not to say that I didn't enjoy Persona 3. I just enjoyed 4 and 5 more. I never played the PS1 games. I discovered the series in 2007 and adamantly tried to get my friends to play Persona 3 and 4.
