gotta fill the void with some sort of activity. don't let your brain be idle or it'll drift back to substances.

good luck

You can do it! Just establish the parts of the day where you smoke/drink the most, and adjust to enjoying those times without it. Changing your routine also helps

That's okay, too. There's no shame in tapering one vice at a time. Drastic changes are harder to stick to.

I quit both with two weeks of each other last year. And I just reached my one year anniversary. The first month is hard. After that it get easier. I miss drinking more than I do smoking. But it's just like a post mentioned before. Find activities to fill those voids.

Don't treat quitting as a linear path. It's full of peaks and valleys as you succeed and fail, so just take it a day at a time.

If you hang out with the same people and do the same stuff it might be hard.

Yeah, thats the hard part. Ive seen a few people mention activities, and thats fair. But my hobbies are video games, kayaking, hiking, etc

all of which I usually appreciate more while smoking lol.

my friends do, my fianc does, its just routine at this point

I quit booze, weed and cigs. at the same time. Granted, I wasn't a heavy smoker of either, so it was easier for me then it would be for most.

I find its easier to quit one then the other.

I have self-inforced quitting green on myself multiple times over the years and I find it easier to quit the green all together (because thats the harder one) and use alchohoal to cope till I m two weeks clean, then get off alchoal. But I never plan on giving up alchohoal all together because I am not dependent on it like I am with green.

Pick up a new hobby. It sounds like throwaway advice, but the reason you associate those with smoking and drinking is they're such old habits that you can do them without focusing. A new hobby you'll have to dedicate a lot more attention to.

While this is true, it's also worth nothing that quitting everything at once leads to statistically higher long term success in abstaining.
