Which is correct

Ive been doing matte side up for pretty much the entirety of my cooking life, but now Im questioning which is correct after recently finding out Ive been lining my kitchen garbage bag incorrectly. Wondering what other simple things Ive been doing wrong lol

Doesnt matter for cooking, but if you make a hat with it, have the shiny side out as it will look more fabulous

Shiny side up because you're optimistic.

Matte side is treated with a nonstick coating, so that.

They made one side shiny to make it simple for you TC. That's the side for presentation. You want to show the world you're a conspiracy squirrel so it needs to reflect the summer sun into everyone's eyes. The matte side is for cooking. Cooking up some hot and spicy conspiracy.

I remember seeing something about the shiny side reflecting heat, but this is probably only relevant if you are wrapping something in foil then putting it in the oven.

This is like when I found out you were suppose to pee in the bottom part of the toilet. I thought that was just for poops.

youre supposed to have the seam part of the bag facing inside, not outside apparently. helps with the durability of the bag so theres less chance to rip I guess

Oh, I don't buy bin bags that come like that, but I don't see the benefit of that over the "usual" way.

Unless you're massively overfilling it in which case... don't?

Reflectivity difference is statistically irrelevant between the sides.
