No one was in line behind me, so after I paid for my stuff, she kame from behind the register and got nearer to me to keep the konversation going. Soon went back because someone else got in line. Does this happen?

Yes, even when theres a long line behind me, its disconcerting, Ive taken to using the self checkout just to get a little respite

Kinda, I guess. They open at 9 and this was between 9 and 10. They never have massive amounts of people (or at least, in the morning) but the lines tend to get long due to only 1 register being open. Feels like Iceland always waits for things to get ridiculous before sending someone out to open another line.
