60 dollars is too much for a short mediocre game. And because it's Nintendo, it's gonna stay 60 dollars until the Switch is dead and they do a Nintendo Selects reprint of it, if they even do it at all.

I probably wouldn't get it even if it was $20. Not a Metroid fan at all.

No 2D metroid game is more than 10 hours long. And it's Mercury Steam so mediocre is very likely.

Because it seems like it's just like Samus Returns and I was not a fan of that game.

Samus Returns was really good....... except for getting 100% items because the OG design of the game doesn't compliment backtracking. It's one thing to have early location items hidden behind late game powerups, but it's an entirely different thing to have the LAST ITEM be merely the ability to pick up hidden trash all over the rest of the map. That's bad design, it has no flow to it.

One of the reasons I don't like Zero Mission that much is because the last items you get in the game, the advanced suit and power bombs, are needed for like half of the power up items left in the game. At that point you're literally two screens to the left of the final boss.

I agree with this - It's perfectly find for normal play, but for 100% is balls stupid

I would rather spend $60 on a brand new entry in a series than $60 for a Wii port or $60 for three barebones roms tbh.

No, the Metroid 2 remake was crap and this looks like more of the same.

Indies have spoiled me admittedly so while I'm excited to see any new entry in the Metroid series, I'm hoping that it really knocks it out of the park at that price point

This is going to make it a bit of a tough sell. By taking so long to produce a 2D Metroid (similarly, Konami's kind of abandoned traditional Castlevania and there hasn't been one of them since OoE in 2008), they've let the standards for the game be set by indie devs, who charge much less for comparable products.
