Cannibal Holocaust has a very long and, arguably, important history. It's extremely graphic nature and realistic portrayals of violence have given it a lasting legacy. Some would call it a groundbreaking classic of the exploitation genre and pioneer of found footage. Others would call it a horrific glorification of violence, rape, and murder including the real killings of animals in the film. What do you think of this piece of film history? i saw it recently and it's actually a much better movie than i ever expected it to be
it's a legit movie

i've seen terrible films that try to be shocking, just for the sake of it, and they're all usually terrible quality in terms of acting and writing and practically everything. but cannibal holocaust is a legit movie, and well made.

Yeah, a lot of those Italian exploitation movies of the 70's and 80's were horrific but surprisingly... genuine. They weren't there to make a quick buck off some gore. They were there to tell a terrible story. Usually very poorly.

I always laugh in Life Is Strange when Warren just casually mentions to Max that he gave it to her for her to watch.

I feel like the (40+ year old French) writers just googled "Top 20 hipster films teen nerds like" and copy pasted a bunch at random.

It really doesn't seem like a film either character would like, let alone one Warren would send to a shy girl he's trying to bang.

This. I remember in the early 00's me and my friends watched this movie thinking it would shock us, but outside of the turtle scene it wasn't that bad.
