Funny that the State Supreme Courts get spurred into action when they have a very wealthy inmate. Yet they cant be bothered to do their jobs most of the time when theyve got prisoners on death row that have been exonerated through DNA testing and recanted testimony from people who were coerced by cops into lying in court.

This country fucking blows, time to start a new one I say.

Dude is 83 years old I doubt he would be super interested in working even if he didn't have roughly $400 million in assets.

Bill made a fuck ton of money throughout the 70s-90s he is one of the most successful comedians of all time. Dude is a real piece of shit obviously, but acting like he actually needs work at age 83 is a joke.

More like mainstream news only cares about celebrities because it draws viewers. Just a quick search turned up another recent example of prosecution misconduct overturning a conviction:

https://www.ncwlife.com/douglas-county-sex-abuse-conviction-overturned-due-to-serious-prosecutorial-misconduct/

People wanna hold cops to standards but not prosecutors I guess?

To be fair the prosecutors wouldn't have gotten a conviction probably without "messing up" since they had already failed to get one once.

This way at least he spent some time in jail.

Because despite everyone being taught that "the ends don't justify the means", in practice almost everyone can live with the method as long as they get their desired result.

This essentially, they asked him to essentially confess under the promise of immunity, than jailed him after he did so.

While I am extremely disappointed that he is no longer in prison for his crimes, I do respect and support the court's decision. I feel awful for the people who he wronged and had some closure with his improsonment, only to have that taken away like this.

The courts have to be made to follow their own rules and processes even if it means a few scumbags get to walk free.

It's less that the right to a fair trial is despised and more that a man who drugged and raped dozens of women is being let out of jail because of a technicality that meant due process, and people despise that. Cosby belongs in jail. Any system or process that fails to incarcerate him is therefore flawed.

This is where I'm at. I'm glad the system worked as intended but it worked in a way that benefitted a guilty monstrous man and help him evade justice.

How is it dangerous? The man has admitted in court to raping women, shouldnt a fair legal system provide some attempt at justice for the victims?

In a legal setting that did not include force from police, prosecutor or judge, he admitted guild and even then it somehow does not count?

This "legal setting" included a deal. Going back on a deal absolutely falls under coercion, because the deal is expected to be honored (and legally it has to be). So no it doesn't count, because without the deal you get no admission. No admission, likely no conviction.

Attempt.

To guarantee prosecution of every criminal requires the will to prosecute when not absolutely certain. This means more innocent people incarcerated. And if you're fine with innocent people getting charged, note that the death penalty is often resisted on the basis of it being unacceptable to subject the innocent to punishment, even through a completely valid and fair court.

If somebody who is guilty is not found guilty, that is - axiomatically - a failure of the system responsible for finding them guilty. Whether or not that system can be fixed such that they are found guilty without collateral damage in the form of convicting innocent people is another question entirely, as is whether or not it should, but being angry at the system for failing is never unreasonable.
