I havent been able to pay my bills solo since covid hit, been having to rely on my fianc for help constantly.

this will at least allow me to not stress about buying a bag of chips :)

My father works for USPS (mailman). It's a lot of overtime and a lot of walking, but he overall does enjoy it. Congrats.

I work for Australia Post as a mailman. Its not easy work, especially with the early morning starts and overtime. Its very tiring. I would quit if finding another decent job wasnt so hard. The pay is good though. Also, watch out for dogs. They will chase and bite you.

you get hired in as a temp position, then get converted after a couple years

there's one lucky driver in my city who gets to use own vehicle for one of the routes in a rural area. mail always came around noon.

Apparently they have their own vehicles for me to use, which I dont mind.

the extra dough would have been nice, but the stress of buying and maintaining another vehicle would be a lot.

Being a mailman always seemed like a chill job to me, you probably have to drive and deliver a lot of stuff, but at least you probably only minimally have to deal with the public. Plus government job so harder to fire you.

Yeah since this is a rural route, Im thinking country roads with mostly driving.

I wouldnt mind a city route either, but this should give me a good mix of both

I took the test back in the day and never heard anything.

Then they hired some idiot on my route who would bang and yell at the door when I had a package instead of leaving it on the porch. Only saw him twice.
