Andrew Cuomo's youngest daughter, Michaela has declared herself to be DEMISEXUAL, which means people who only feel sexually attracted to someone when they have an emotional bond!!

The 23 y/o Brown University graduate opened up about her sexuality in an honour to Pride Month and shared images of herself posting in a gay for you baseball cap and a rainbow flag!!..

She said she always dreamed of a world in which nobody will hav eto come out because everyone's sexuality will be assumed fluid but in a world that force feeds cisgender heterosexuality, coming out of the closet is a lifelong process of unpacking internalized social constructions and stigmas

She feared coming out as queer she was worried as an attention-seeking person since it's been hip or cool to not be hetero in her liberal bubble

She offered support for others still struggling to embrace their own sexual identity or speak out about it publicly and offered a helping hand to reach out to those still hiding

The college graduate majored in Education and Human Development with a focus on social inequality and has joined her embattled father at several press conferences

Right, demisexuality and sapiosexuality mostly feel like jabs at everybody else

I'm only attracted to people who don't abuse animals, but I'm not sure if that qualifies as an entirely separate sexuality- one that implies everyone else *is* attracted to puppy kickers

Tbh i do think demisexuality is real, but it's more of a modifier rather than a category, if that makes any sense.

The people i know irl who consider themselves demisexual mostly just have an *extremely* low libido, or are ace but not aromantic. They don't want to close the door to partners with a sex drive, so demisexuality sounds like the correct flag to wave

I actually looked this up and the way the original post is written is misleading and combining two different stories.

She came out as bisexual last month. Thats where all the quotes about being queer came from. Her saying she was queer wasnt about her demisexuality but because shes attracted to other women. This demisexual thing is something else she clarified just recently but has nothing to do with the other quotes in the post.

My reaction was the same as yours which is why I had to google to see if it was as dumb as OP was making it seem.

Now someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but isn't one of the key factors in being gay/lesbian the fact that that's who they are and how there brain is wired and nothing will change that.

I feel like a lot of these newer sexualities arent even connected to gender. For example whats the difference between asexuality and practicing celibacy?

Asexual is a sexual orientation, or you could say a lack of one. You could be celibate for a variety of reasons other than not feeling sexual attraction.

Interesting. I just did some Googling as well. Apparently some asexual people will still have sex, specifically for partners with higher sex drives or even if they want children. So I guess it's really just a lack of said sexual attraction.

I didnt get it until I talked with someone who was demisexual. They didnt understand celebrity crushes because the idea of being attracted to someone they didnt know was completely foreign to them.

Physical attraction is directly attached to emotional attachment for them.
