Don't be surprised by this, Rinoa is a top priority for me! Quistis is my second fav of the VIII gang though.

And jeez, Fang has only finished in the top half three times and one of those was in first place lolo. How the hell did she win, really. I know Lightning was lawyered and the XIII crew picked whoever was left but... still.

XIII coalition and ff4 picking their weakest characters (cough memes) was a collusion for two awful finals back to back

I remember being really hopeful for a Vincent Vanillentine finals. If I knew then what I know now (Vincent having zero chance to win with this group)... well I probably would've kept saving him just out of loyalty, but damn I wish Vanille had been last XIII standing.

Hey at least Ashe made a final afterwards!

15 is the strangest case to me, at release it didn't seem any more divisive than 12/13 were when they came out and yet it has gone absolutely nowhere ever. Of course I haven't played it, but it didn't get the release boost that the other new games did.

XV was just kind of a mess even if you liked it.

XV having a season pass, and being about to have a second one before they decided to cancel it kinda hurt some peoples interest in it

It also doesnt help that like, other JRPGs are around this gen that are awesome. XII and XIII had good timing in that regard, coming out in dry periods.

Yeah, I was planning to play it once it finished. My motivation is pretty much gone, now.

I bought XV new at full price and decided to wait until it was finished being updated. Then the Royal Edition came out and went down to $20, and so it turned out it was cheaper to buy the game a second time than to buy the DLC separately, so I did that.

I still haven't played it.

Well, I started it up just so I could do the chocobo festival thing, but that's it. But now I won't have whatever I got from that when (if) I start the Royal Edition, so lol.

XIII was big on hype coming in, although japanese copy impressions coming in about the linearity bubbled up in the months inbetween releases

Nonetheless even I got a special copy with a Lightning/Snow poster and and a laughable mini-guide with the maps at time of release, and in the hype I even proceeded it the week before with my first XII playthrough (which i enjoyed!)

XV's release didn't feel like it had the same immediate day 1 hype behind it by the time it came out, and as things continued I feel many others like me just couldn't be bothered to get around to it yet and lost interest

Noctis made top 20 in his first* appearance which is pretty solid all things considered!

*somehow he made it once before XV came out but I'm talking about his first post-release contest
