But yeah, I initially hated XIII and loved LO back in the day. Sakaguchi and Uematsu making this game after leaving Square being a big reason why. Though my recent XIII playthrough gained it a little favor since I was able to look at it as if it wasn't being compared to my beloved FF games of the previous era. Now I can also get a fresh take on LO. And CE_gonna_CE posted... Didn't like how XIII just immediately starts at 70 MPH and hardly lets up outside of disjointed flashbacks. LO is a bit tropey so far, but I'm entirely aware of what's going on and am left wondering what is up with Kaim and therefore wanting to progress the story. Dysley/Barthandelus sadly had tonsss of potential, but holy shit he's barely ever on screen and what time he's on the screen you're like "Wait.. The pope is a robot.. A.. Falcie? What's that again? Ok.. What does he want? His.. Mama? Ok.. Oh, he's dead now." The same goes for his two flunkies whose names I can't recall. That said, Gongora's supreme wizard pulling the strings of a monarchy/government is about as trope-ridden as it gets.. It's like a silent guy who barely talks as an overly charismatic chick plays straight guy to goofball non-stop. I'm enjoying it despite that..
