Mostly creating this to keep myself motivated but all are welcome to post and encourage each other. My two big goals are to lose the baby weight and strengthen my core to alleviate my postpartum back pain.

Height: 52
Current weight: 131 lbs
Ideal weight: 115 lbs

My plan is to go out every morning to take my girl for a 45 minute stroll around the neighborhood. I live in a very hilly area with inclines/declines. Every other day I will do an additional workout. At least 30-45 min. I am also going to eat keto and do intermittent fasting for a month, just to jumpstart things.

Today I went for a stroll. Then did a 20 minute ab workout followed by a 25 min arms/back workout. Started keto.

Props to @Zodd3224 for recommending the FitOn app, I really like it!

I'm glad you like it. I've been using it for about 23 weeks myself. Longest I've ever stuck with a workout routine.

This all sounds like a good plan. It's realistic, won't burn you out, but good enough to get results.

On the upside, youre still pretty small so good job on not just blowing up during pregnancy. Good luck!

I'm currently on like week 7 of a cut. I let myself get a bit out of control on my last bulk. Down a bit over 20lbs. Want to get down like another 15 to make my abs pop and stuff but that's probably like another two months at least. Mostly just calorie counting and watching my macros while I do my normal lifting routine.

Wow thats great. I hope I can stick to it. I always get really into working out then quit a few weeks in. I really want to push myself though.

Thats good feedback. Im hoping to stay realistic with what I can do.

Yes my weight was all belly. Even now its all mostly in my stomach. I probably just look a couple of months pregnant now. But I want to be able to fit in my clothes again and feel comfortable in a bikini.

And good luck with your workout goals!

It'll probably be better for me to beat it and just design some sets using the moves. I can't imagine that I'm getting the most out of switching to moves that just do the most damage to monsters lol.

I have a protein and milk drink after every morning workout. And I drink a homemade smoothie containing Greek yogurt, veggies, frozen berries, banana, chia seeds, etc. Usually around mid day.

But this is for me trying to gain muscle. Won't do much good for weight loss.

I used to make similar smoothies, theyre so good! Ill probably go back to them after I complete my 30 days of keto. I only stopped because they made me nauseous during pregnancy.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

Oh yeah thats all too much for me lol. Im glad it works for you. Right now its hard to remember to brush my teeth some days with so much time spent with my baby lol

I even signed up to a keto meal delivery service. Ready made and mircrowaveable. Just very little time to do much cooking or meal prepping

Today I did a 20 minute low impact cardio workout and a 30 minute stroll with my girl. It was too hot to do more and I worried for her. According to my Apple Watch I burned 300 calories. I love how all the apps integrate together. Im using FitOn, MyFitnessPal and the health app along with my Apple Watch to track everything. FitOn also streams to my Apple TV.

I started intermittent fasting. My eating window will be 12-8pm. Just had lunch, thai coconut chicken on top of a bed of zucchini spirals. For dinner Im making ribeyes with broccoli.

Burned more than usual today on my RFA journey (according to the kcal counter, which I'm sure is not all that accurate). Entered the final "world", but I want to go back and clean up the side mishes.

At this point I think the motivation to be one of the few people on this planet who have actually completed RFA's story mode is a strong one.

Taking a rest day today so I can focus on chores. Have a crap ton of laundry to do. Too hot to take my girl out for a stroll, maybe in the evening.

I do also have a terrible headache and generally feel crappy. Its my third day on keto and second fasting. I wonder if its just me adjusting to it.

Took my girl for a 45 min stroll. It got to 82 by the time we got back and it was only 9 am. I had a swaddle to keep her shaded but I was soaked in sweat. Im going to need to try to get out earlier. Its hard. Then I did 30 min on legs. Im going to drop IF I dont really see a benefit for me. I just end up so hungry that I want to binge by the time I can eat. Ive always been someone who just eats a little every few hours and Im counting my calories.

Will eating more carbs on my workout days break me out of ketosis? I have fish oil in my daily supplements but I do need to eat more fish. My husband hates salmon so I rarely buy it but he agrees that I should just focus on my own diet and he will eat wtv

Oooh, just saw this topic.

Height: 510
Current weight: 173 lbs
Ideal weight: 170 lbs?

Unsure about what my goal is now. At the beginning of 2020, I was about 200 lbs and have gotten myself down to 173. I don't know what my goal weight is, I have been flat for about 3 months now, but I have been slowly switching out some fat for muscle.

My running goal is 1000 miles for the year, and I am more than on pace at 587 miles after my 7.25 mile run this morning. I also want to raise the number of pushups I can do at once, as I am at 50 right now.

Also I weigh myself every day, first thing in the morning after using the bathroom and I chart it.

Helps determine overall progress and any fluctuations.

It could be discouraging to see you gained a pound a week later if you've actually been trending down otherwise.

Running, pushups and pullups mostly. It is amazing how toned you can get from a couple body weight exercises if done frequently enough

And congrats to you too! I know how hard it is shortly after having a baby. I mean, I didn't ever have one, but my ex-wife had 4 :)

I would honestly advise to stop doing keto and switch to a more low-fat, high-fiber plant-oriented diet, that way you will both control your blood glucose and lose fat while not having to worry about what you eat, blood sugar spikes, how many calories, etc.

Ideally with this diet, fruits and vegetables are your best friends, the weight falls off effortlessly, your energy level and focus improves, inflammation lowers all over, recovery time for workouts speeds up, and you still get to eat many of your favorite foods like fruits, pasta, breads, potatoes, beans, etc.

I did keto for a couple years, but I lost more weight, my mind is faster and more focused, I have no chronic inflammation or pain, I have more strength, flexibility, endurance and speed by switching to a whole food vegan diet.

Yeah its tough. Luckily walking with her helps a lot. My husband is home to watch her when I do my workouts. I know Im very fortunate with that and just having one baby. I couldnt imagine finding the time with 4. My friend is a full time SAHM with 4 kids and somehow managed it but I think its insane.

Doing keto, you miss out on many of the healthiest foods that have lots of complex carbs, fiber, vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals. Any diet that tells you to skip fruit, of all things, should be immediately ignored. Fruit is one of the healthiest things a type 2 diabetic can eat. I did keto for a couple years, but I lost more weight, my mind is faster and more focused, I have no chronic inflammation or pain, I have more strength, flexibility, endurance and speed by switching to a whole food vegan diet.
My plan is to do keto for a month and then switch to the Mediterranean diet. I like keto for helping me get over my sugar addiction. I fully recognize its not sustainable long term.

Awesome, good luck with your goals. But even then, on the Mediterranean diet, as long as you are eating primarily whole foods, especially a variety of fruits and vegetables, while keeping fat and protein intake on the lower end while increasing fiber, you will have almost guaranteed success without having to worry about calories or portion control.

Sugar addiction in and of itself isn't that bad of an issue, it's when you pair it with fat and/or sodium (i.e. french fries, ice cream, chocolate, cookies, cake, etc) that it becomes a problem.

Yes when I mean sugar addiction Im specifically meaning refined sugars. I have a major sweet tooth. Ive been craving these frosted cookies from this gourmet place so badly. My diet went out the window in pregnancy because I was nauseous for most of it and only craved sweets. On the Mediterranean diet I would typically have a green smoothie every day, fish or lean protein with veggies, berries/apples/bananas for fruits, whole grains, brown rice and some extra virgin olive oil or almond butter for healthy fats. But I have so little time and energy to meal prep these days. I may be getting a nanny soon so that will free up time.

The sweet tooth can be hard to circumnavigate around, but it's totally doable, and you seem like you know what you are doing and where your strengths and weaknesses lie, which is really good. I hope everything works out for you! I'm very knowledgeable and well studied with dietetics and nutrition, so if you ever have any questions you can always ask me, tag me, PM, etc.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

The only supplement that anyone, vegan or not, really has to worry about is B12, because it comes not from food, but from the soil bacteria. Many foods like breads, pastas and such are fortified with B12 to prevent deficiencies, but I take a 250mcg tablet anyways twice a week because B and C vitamins are water soluble, you'll pee out the excess. In comparison to what I take, the DRI for B12 for an adult is about 2.4mcg. The 250mcg tablet is over 100x more than enough.

Other supplements I take occasionally (once a week typically) to help me out are:

*algae-derived omega-3s
*magnesium glycinate
*2-in-1 plant-based combo of 5000 IU of D3 and 100mcg of K2

Everything else pretty much comes from my everyday diet. I have no issues with dietary protein, nor any deficiencies with calcium, iodine, folate, vitamin C, fiber, etc. So I have no need to take a daily multivitamin. Most vegans on average though, actually have less nutrient deficiencies than omnivores.

https://youtu.be/VVJCHVEatqY

And it's not propaganda by any means. Nowhere did I say "you should not eat meat". I said that whole plant foods are what changes the game, and that I personally have had a lot of success with managing my health, weight and my strength in the gym, even without meat, by focusing more on whole plant foods.

I started off at 176 lbs, 17% body fat in mid-April. I have done a bulking diet for 3 months (3300 calories per day, 320 g protein) and I am now about 186 lbs, 15% body fat.

Today is actually the first day of a 12 week cut (1800 calories/day low carb for 3 days, 2400 calories for 1 day). Double the cardio to 40 minutes per day, still eating 220+ g of protein per day. Hoping to get down to 8% body fat, no idea what weight that will be though.
