I died a lot of times in Evil Within 1 to that hallway where you have to run from crushing ceilings while avoiding those mines that tie up your legs. Probably because the whole game up to that point was classic third-person, but now it's isometric and you're running diagonally towards a corner of the screen.

I hated the chicken hat in mgsv. It's already insulting for a game suggesting you play easy. Worse when it mocks you for it.

Also having to die x amount of times to unlock easy mode. If I wanna play on easy dont make me go through extra steps to do it

When it comes to unlocking Easy Mode, nothing is dumber than what they did in Pokemon White.

You have to beat the game first.

Then you can unlock Easy Mode.... for another cartridge.

Like the fuck Gamefreak?

(I mean, it's not like you need an easy mode for Pokemon... but this was also the only way to unlock Hard mode.)

Oh yeah I hated as a kid street fighter 2 (at least one version of it) wouldnt show ending unless on a certian difficulty or higher. Would say congratulations now try a harder difficulty.

I'm sorry but street fighter 2 is legit hard compared to most modern fighters and I wasn't that good as a kid to boot. I barely got good enough to see those endings.

Games not allowing you to grind. Especially when there's a lot to unlock but you have limited opportunities to build points to get stuff. I'm looking at you Street Fighter V. I know Capcom did it that way because they wanted real money but if I want to do Cammy's easy survival track 50 times to earn fight money I should have that option.

Rubber band mode. You make the other racer crash, but then hes instantly two inches from your rear bumper. That doesnt make the game more fun; it makes it frustrating to give the AI opponent an advantage that you dont have. If you crash, youre out of the race, so why should your opponent get this?

The same thing can be applied to non-racing games, too. Basically the game punishing you for doing too well. If I got this level of skill, I deserve to be able to destroy the game, especially if Im not playing in an online server.

I also hate overpowered perks that make no sense. Ill use Skyrim as an example. When you level up sneak so much that you can fire an arrow into an enemy thats 15 feet away only for them to say Huh? What was that? Must have been the wind. As they have an arrow sticking out of their ass while you stand out in the middle of broad daylight. God thats so stupid.

I hate content being locked. Mgsv chicken hat wouldnt bother me if it didnt show up in cutscenes. I only needed it to beat the final mission the first time. I was able to beat it without once I upgraded some gear and got more practice. Difficulty of the final mission was a fucking huge difficulty spike

It's super fucking helpful if you're based on kills.

Like a Necromancer in a one-on-one is at a bit of a disadvantage without bodies.

Fast day night cycles.

Take Skyrim running from riverwood to whiterun is about maybe 2 miles, but because of the day night cycle it takes like 12 or more hours of the day to get there, This means my character has a running speed 2 miles in 12 hours which I think would be 1/6 a mile per hour running speed.

Honestly it makes me feel like this guy is my character.

Oh yeah, the thing I hate the most thats common in one of my favorite series, Super Robot Wars: no way to replay stages/free stages. You usually have to either fail a stage to play it again. I think one or two games in the series had some levels that you could just mess around and grind to your hearts content, but for the most part you had to always keep moving forward.

This sucked big time for two big reasons:

  • Some units had very specific recruitment conditions, and since you couldnt replay the level, if you fucked up, theyre gone for good
  • Some units just join really late. I remember in one of the games you would get Lancelot Albion (Code Geass) on like the second or third to the last stage, so the best thing you could do was keep a save file right before that stage. Otherwise you would have to go through almost the entire game to use it again for such a short time <_<

Oh, being able to drop items, but having a "magnetized" pickup radius so it just goes right back in your inventory immediately. It's a problem in Stardew Valley (where basically every player is going to use a magnetized ring) and in Cozy Grove when the backpack bugs start showing up. But at least CG only does it for that one bug type and it explains that the bugs just do that, plus they can be either tossed in the ocean or burned at your campfire for one coin each.

Speaking of dropping items, I hate when you cant just temporarily drop something to make room for a consumable item that youll use immediately, then pick the first item back up. Or just use that consumable item directly without it needing to go into your inventory :<

Ironically, if there's one thing I loved about 'The Stanley Parable', it's that ALL the achievements are like this. The game's narrator even mocks you for attempting them.
