All of a sudden McDonalds has the money to raise wages and then some, while Big Macs either remain the same or increase at the rate they already had been for decades. What a shocker! Automation as a whole still costs too much for them to seriously consider implementing on a large scale in comparison and their choice to automate had nothing to do with wages.
