Current Events > The Fear Street movies were a total wash (Spoilers for all 3)

There was a really cool premise there but it didn't take three movies to develop.

Second movie is entirely irrelevant and could have just been split up between the other two films.

The first half of the third movie is actually the strongest hour of the whole series, but the second half is just really illogical drawn out nonsense.

And why did they use the same actresses in 1666 that they used in 1994?

I enjoyed them a lot. The second was my least favorite. And the actress from the first movie was living 1666 through Sarah's eyes or whatever.

Yeah, at first I was "Oh sure, multiracial families are a thing in 1666" in regards to her brother. But I headcanon'd that away with her replacing the Ye Olde Townsfolk with faces that were familiar to her as Sarah's face was changed to one familiar to us.
Part2 was definitely more enjoyable to me though.

I saw someone else saying that they liked Part 2 the best, I'm really curious why?

For me personally? Two reasons.

1. It came closest to being an "old school teen horror" flick
2. The only Fear Street book I ever read was set in Camp Nightwing

Ah. I didn't like the summer camp setting because it's been done to death and they didn't seem to do anything new here, and I only read a few Fear Street books that weren't about this.

How did the Camp Nightwing of the movie compare to that of the book? Was there some clear tie-in/inspiration or was it more of just an easter egg thing?

It's just the setting IIRC. Main character is a female camp counselor. Accidents start happening in the camp resulting in the death of another counselor. She suspects foul play and worries the killer might target her next as she tries to uncover their identity. Don't remember if the book and movie share characters, it's been 20 years since I last read it.
