Current Events > Had two interviews in two days after not having any for a month or so

2 positions in two different places. First interview I thought went pretty well, things seemed relaxed, while also getting my points across. It might have been about 20 minutes. I think I misspoke a few times, but it didn't seem brutal.

Second interview was like an hour and a hald. I think I wasn't getting my points across nearly as well, and with the increased amount of time, I misspoke way more than I had hoped. The ending felt okay, but I don't think it will come close to redeeming how the entire thing went.

In either case, I won't hear if I got the job for another 2 weeks or so, or so they say. I gotta say I'm not really confident in getting either, but I suppose all I can do is hope and wait. It's frustrating to be waiting so long for a chance, only to fear that I'll have fumbled. And who knows when I'll get another interview opportunity.

Got the first job. Went ahead and accepted it immediately even though it's far inferior to the second. I have no idea when I'll know about the other one. I might have enough time to back out if I must, if I happen to get good news about the other one.

Congrats! If you want the second one more just email/call and tell them you have an offer in hand and ask if they could update you sooner.

An Accounts Receivable thing, <$13/hr. I always thought I didnt need much money, and the cost of living in my area is pretty low, but its kinda too low even for me. >_>

But not low enough that I feel comfortable turning it down.

Id say there were a fair few flubs. In some instances, I was trying to get a point across, but dont believe I did so, or sort of petered out in my answer.

So the DMV is really incompetent, so I have an expired license and its questionable how soon Ill be able to get a new one. I need to do a drug test in a couple of weeks, so its cutting it scarily close.

Yeah, that's not great. Since you've already accepted you probably won't go this route, but temp agencies can be pretty good. The vast majority of positions they have are temp-to-hire. Just something to consider. Congrats, though. 13 is way better than 0.

Hopefully it goes well. Even if it doesn't the more job interviews you go to, the better you'll get at it.

I was hoping for temp work, but the DMV is horrific, so getting my license, which makes Temp work more possible, wasn't a smooth process like it should have been. I'll accept the work I can get now. If I do things properly, I may be able to pivot into a better position. Worst comes to worst I can probably get a certification of some kind to boost myself even further.
