You are at a conference full of industry leaders and shakers and decision makers and you make the single largest faux pas possible in your industry.

Everyone hates you. The skillsets you have learned in that career you can no longer use to earn money. If you so much as reference your past experience to new employers in a different resume, they will look you up and find out about the faux pas and be equally repulsed.

So you have to start from before you started training in that field. What do you do now?
