all set. literally already at peak temp. now all I need to do is turn once halfway through. I set it for 22 minutes and hopefully that's enough.

400F in the air fryer. the outside has a decent crunch for each bite. might need to figure out how to make the crumbs stick better. I don't like to use egg that much, though.

Does your air fryer make things taste different? I cooked some steaks in mine and they tasted sorta off, like plasticy or when someone's been outside for awhile

It's the flour combined with the egg that makes em stick; otherwise they just slide off. Probably can find a substitute that's sticky but it needs to be able to cook to lose those qualities of sliminess like egg does.

I've never cooked steaks in it. I imagine it would taste different somehow. Were they cooked to a good even temperature?

How did I forget that you need flour...

Depends on how rare you like em; I like em decently rare. What I usually do is sear them and then they go in the oven/air fryer since they're effectively the same thing, the air fryer just preheats faster. Taste sort of plasticy imo, but it wasn't a very expensive air fryer. Good on you for not overcooking the broccoli, most people don't realize if you cook the crap out of vegetables they lose all the vitamins and minerals you wanted anyways.

All forms of bread should be replaced with bell peppers and onions, or the fajita mix.

You'll love it, its healthier.

Ah, OK. This is a pretty good air fryer I think. It was listed at $149 but I got it for $99. 10 qt and has a rotisserie. I'm going to try that soon.

I microwaved the broccoli. It was frozen broccoli and I don't know how I'd do that in the air fryer.

These frozen Tyson chicken breasts are just OK. I got them because meat is stupid expensive right now.

I mean it's lower calories, but are you toasting/roasting the bell pepper? If you're sauteeing the onions it's def not healthier because without an oil it burns

On the chicken or the side? Either way, I'm eating the bread for a reason. It's a good vehicle for olive oil and it's filling.

It's sliced French bread. I didn't want to wait for brown rice to cook and it's a fine side for "fried" chicken.

Boiled in water/(beef bullion? some sort of beef spices) is how my wife's mother usually does it.

Or if Im cooking some reason, Ill dip em in olive oil and fry them.

I mean you can roast bell pepper as a substitute but boiling? Instead of bread as a food spoon? I assume you mean the onions

Bread is carbs, other than that there isn't anything wrong with bread, it just tends to be a lot of carbs. I don't see that as healthier without having a huge carb cost if there's anything to do with oil involved

Oil = fat, bread = carbs. Carbs only become fat without a balanced diet. Best for 'health' would be roasting bell pepper halves and then using them to set the breasts onto as a sandwich substitute. Virtually no fat, with a lot of protein and little fat. That's just a weight loss diet though, you need all of the big 3 for a balanced diet; carbs, protein, fat.
