Theres one that stops by in my town in the last week of August every year. I used to this it was cool but after a few years its just gotten annoying because of the traffic it creates in my town. I have to avoid an entire section of town for the whole week.

My parents took us when we were kids. We even had a "Fair Day" at school and school was let out for it. Before that kids went to school and they bussed them to the county fair. But all of that has stopped in the past few years although kids still get an excused absence for showing livestock and other fair activities. Rural life.

I dunno but my kids are little and don't ride crazy rides yet so I'm comfortable putting them directly in harms way with little regard for their safety or well-being

Not very often, even when they come near me. Typically the rides (what few they have) aren't anything of great interest, the midway games of chance are kinda meh (in that the novelty is gone and the prizes aren't interesting), and the concessions are overpriced. It can be fun to just wander around but... idk. In general, most of the traveling exhibits are really geared at kids.

Probably, because of the nature of moving attractions, but there have been an absurd number of things that went wrong at major parks, too.
