Eh, its pretty complicated. Im a pirate legend but havent played the jack sparrow update.

ive heard its pretty chill and cool so might be worth it just for that. As for the game as a whole its fun and its unique in being what it is, but theres still a ton of grinding and that grinding can be messed up by other people at any time.

As long as you can be cool with that youll enjoy it. I played with my roommate but 2 people are at a big disadvantage against a 4 man group unless you two are really in sync and know your shit. I stopped playing cause my roommate rage quit after one too many times where wed get a bunch of loot or finish a big event then get robbed before we could cash in.

i say thats just part of the game though. Best advice for grinding is have you two keep queuing into teams until you find another two people who wanna do forts/temples and stuff. If there were more cosmetics to grab Id say worth it but idk.

so as someone with like 500 hours+ logged Id say its worth it as long as you know the flaws going in. Its a slow ride though so be prepared to be sailing for 15 minutes to get somewhere while just chatting with your buddy and messing around on the boat, it will happen a lot.

Do you constantly get attacked and griefed? I know the name is sea of thieves but i dont want to be constantly watching my back. And being a new player, dont want to be spawn camped etc.

Some pvp is fun but sometimes, i just want to chill, solve some riddles and hunt some tresure.

Depends on the server. Each world is only 8 ships total so its a roll of the dice. Sometimes Ive had long sessions where I come across multiple groups who are all chill or wanna team up and sometimes I hit a server where theres 4 ships chasing me for over an hour before I say fuck it and let them have it.

If you go for any big world events like the forts or something expect to see at least one other hostile ship youll either have to outrun or sink tbh.

Yeah worry of getting constantly chased on and attacked was what's held me off buying this on the steam sale.

I played the alpha. 8 ships per instance doesn't sound too bad on paper.

I guess I'll wait for it to go on sale again. That way I'll still get my moneys worth of I decide to rage quit after 10-15 hours.

So far only been attacked twice, and both times we managed to sink our attackers thanks to my friend who's pretty good at issuing orders.
