You refused the treatment. Why should you be provided with any additional options? This is your own fault.

That is unless you have a medical condition that means you can't get the vaccine, or if your age group hasn't been approved for it.

Yes, the vaccine is free and should be readily available nationwide though.

I dont agree with this. I think everyone that is able to do so should get the vaccine. But even if they didnt I dont think that mistake should mean they cant seek out help if they need it.

Okay I agree, but only once its FDA approved. Can you blame some people for not taking the vaccine seriously? Every time they talk about it, they always have the stock prices next to it.

So if you catch covid and have no health insurance youre fucked? Surely thats one where the government takes it on the chin and stumps up the cash so they can stop a mass outbreak of the virus in certain areas?

Good thing covid is so mild most people never have to go to the hospital in the first place, if they even realize they have it at all.

Hmm. I guess under this logic someone with covid wouldn't need to self isolate either right? I mean if they aren't supposed to seek medical treatment why should they stay home either? Why wear a mask as well, they should be free to go out in public with the virus as they wish it follows.

The number of adults who can't get at least one dose of the vaccine is vanishingly small.

And beyond the basic humanitarian questions (which also extends into long-term financial savings because people are less likely to be permanently disabled if they seek treatment), unvaccinated people being hospitalized creates statistics that could potentially motivate hold-outs. People dying quietly at home hides the severity of the disease and keeps people complacent.

Which offers higher DPS?

  1. 400 damage per hit, 0.1 attacks per second
  2. 5 damage per hit, 35 attacks per second
The math is pretty easy: Your individual hits are quite weak with option 2, but because you're attacking so often, you still end up doing more overall damage. Similarly, individual Covid infections aren't likely to be bad, but because there are so many infections, the overall number of serious infections and deaths is much higher than it would be for a disease with a higher mortality rate that is less virulent (see: The 2014 Ebola outbreak, which had a ~40% CFR but only killed 12,000 people globally in 2.5 years).

People love to fixate on Covid's low mortality rate as though that means it's not a big deal. The personal risk for any given case is very low, but it is a massive public health problem.

All vaccines available in the US are FDA approved. If they weren't, they wouldn't be available in the US.

Technically it's approved under emergency authorization, not the normal approval, but it's really just a way for anti-vaxxers to try to rationalize it. Watch it get the full approval and vax numbers barely change and "they only approved it to pump the numbers, I'm not fallin fer it!"

This is like saying if you smoked cigars don't go to the doctor when you develop lung problems. Or if you're overweight from gorging on doritos or mountain dew don't go to the doctor when you have heart issues. The healthcare workers can't deny them help. Did they make a poor choice to not get vaccinated over some silly belief? Yes they did, but the hospital can't refuse a dying person.

I just saw an article where a woman had a bill over $1 million dollars after a stay in the hospital. I'm sure there is potential for negotiation if you have no insurance though. Or if worse comes to worse just declare bankruptcy I guess.

Personally feel that you should have to show a vaccination card to even be allowed into a hospital at this point, unless it's to get a shot.

I like when anti-vax people who are "concerned about side effects" will happily take quack treatments with questionable research. Hello cognitive dissonance!

Yes I know there is some difference in those being established treatments (for other things), but they really aren't meant to be used like this, and also we have enough knowledge from other vaccines that are similarly made to have a reasonable understanding of possible side effects. Not to mention we don't know the long term side effects of the virus any better than the vaccine, but of the effects of both that we do know, the virus is worse pretty much across the board.

I mean, that's not wrong, but I don't think my mother's medical specialization really indicates that particularly reliably.
