Big fucking deny.

When you are cold you can dress in layers and be at relative comfort. Even in -40 weather this is easily attainable.

When it is really hot you can be in a position where nothing you can do will be relief.

.
Never had that hot issue in texas. And we get f'n hot too. Also that dry humid air is a killer. But i'd rather deal with extreme heat than cold.

And how does that work with negative numbers?

It still works

-8 C = 17.6 F

-16 + 30 = 14

That's really close. It works less as you go to higher numbers but it's still pretty accurate.

-20 honestly isn't the worst if it isn't windy. It's cold for sure, but it's manageable if you bundle up for it.

100 can fuck right off forever.

Every winter we get to -40 (where they both meet, C and F) just fine.

-20F = -29C. That is chilly but nothing major.

I lived in Greeley CO, where it gets -20 sometimes rarely in the winter(once every couple winters) and over 100 every freaking summer(yay...).

Give me the cold anyday.

100 needs AC inside, or your just not doing anything in the house except watching TV. Working like on the computer or whatever is just too hot, all you can do is watch TV, ruins the whole day. Going outside isnt advised but its doable. 120 however, you can barely walk a few blocks and just be spent. Dont know how people in Vegas walk around in 126 degree weather, fuck that I walked just a couple blocks in Vegas and I was spent, taking breaks every block, and the water isnt even free there they charge you at starbucks for Ice water. Fuck. I mean its only a dollar but my cheap ass aint goanna do it out of principle.

-20 still feels decent in the house. Wrap yourself in a cover, and your good. I walked to college once in -22 degrees weather. Probably very stupid but I was 25 or so, but it was only like a couple blocks away from the college. But I wasnt spent compared to the hot as vegas weather.

And how does that work with negative numbers?

A large portion of the easily accessable internet does seem to be very US based.. or atleast the sites i use.

Admittedly i get weather from the local news sites.. which are well local, so local wording (Danish) and temps.

The lack of consistency isnt helping either

TVs, Monitors, Phone Screens and all other kinds of displays are measured diagonally... in inches (Translated terms do exist, Danish is "Tomme/r" in fact). but Hardware temps (CPU GPU etc) are in Celsius.

Atleast they are basically international in that case (Anyone measure their CPU temps in Fahrenheit?) but its still a bit weird.
It works the same way. The actual formula is:
F =
C * 1.8000
+ 32.00

I will go outside in -20 before going out in 100 willingly. Living in the northeast makes -20 easier to deal with. I'll just bundle up for it.

I can put on layers and tolerate the cold. Even if I could go naked(and ngl, if I have to go outside some days I totally would), hot weather is still hot and uncomfortable.
No you can't. You are someone who doesn't spend more than 20 minutes in the cold.

For real anyone saying you can layer up indefinitely and stay warm has no clue what they're talking about and definitely doesn't spend a significant time outside in the cold.

I've dug holes in 116F and I've worked in -35F. Guess which was harder? The COLD. It doesn't fucking matter how many layers you wear because when it's cold there's almost always going to be a wind, and once the wind blows your bodyheat away the layers aren't doing anything!

And if you break a sweat in all your layers, you're fucked because now your clothed are getting damp and literally freezing to your body

I agree with this completely. They are looking at it at the best case scenario. 100 degree weather would sound a lot better if it was cloudy and wind was blowing. Regardless of that, working in below 0 temperatures has to be a nightmare.

Uhh you're adding a whole new situation to this. Working out in these, with wind is especially going to change this. -35 with wind, depending on the wind is easily going to make it feel like it's much worse than -35.

-20 with no wind vs 100 with say no humidity is still gonna be -20 everytime.

100 vs -20, I would take 100. I'm used to it after this summer.

Get rid of the negative and I would easily choose regular 20 over 100 though.

C. I love hot weather.

Let me put it this way:

How does your body respond to excessive heat? It sweats. And it's surprisingly efficient at removing heat via sweating. Just drink some water to stay hydrated.

How does your body respond to excessive cold? It constricts the blood vessels in your extremities and literally sacrifices pieces of itself to survive.

We are made for dealing with heat. We are definitely NOT made for dealing with cold.
