I can put on layers and tolerate the cold. Even if I could go naked(and ngl, if I have to go outside some days I totally would), hot weather is still hot and uncomfortable.

C. Fuck -20. -20 probably means snowy/icy roads and people driving like assholes. That alone is enough. Plus, dealing with 100+ is much easier than -20. Especially if humidity isnt involved much

Ive never experienced either, but i seriously doubt id agree

30 Celsius (86 F) is rough enough

Atleast with negative 28 Celsius, you can either wear covering clothes... or just ya know STAY INSIDE..

30 C even my fan is struggling at that point...

I dont like 100+ but I can handle it fine. I just ran 4 miles in the mid 90s and it felt great to me

The only time Ive experienced that level of cold was when I was working in a meat storage warehouse. That kinda temp is a nightmare

Plus you can still do most things outside even if its 100 or so. You can barely do anything at -20

This is the hardest D ever.

You can't bundle low for the heat, it's just constant misery, you have long johns, undershirt, top shirt, jacket, scarf, and gloves for the cold.

I can't be fucking naked in the heat, cause then the sun burns you.

All my homies hate the sun

Having dealt with both multiple times, it really depends on other factors.

If it's just 100F vs -20F, well it's easily -20 for me. Living in the northeast it's much easier to get accustomed to that over 100, along with bundling properly. It also helps that I fucking hate the heat since I sweat like crazy.

Now if there's a lot of ice or snow then I might be inclined to take to 100, especially if I have to go somewhere.

  1. A 30 second walk across the parking lot is much more bearable in 100 degrees than -20.
  2. At least after a 100 degree day, night time won't be that bad. A cold winter can suck ass for days or weeks on end.

Yeah -28 is fucking cold as fuck.

100 is pretty hot but its not extreme heat.

I've worked at -36 before wind chill and at 46 above... I'll take the heat most of the time tbh. This year was an exception cause it literally went from like 22 to 48 ficking degrees overnight .

Heat is manageable with an adjustment phase. When it just jumps like that and you can't get conditioned to it its absolute murder.

Depends on where you live, really. If you live in the city in the desert, all the concrete and asphalt traps the heat (so it only drops from 115 to something, like say, 98 or so ;_;)

The exact temperature when water freezes? Matters to humans

The exact temperature when water boils? Doesn't matter to humans

Therefore Celsius sucks as a temperature marker.

It wouldnt be so annoying if the degrees werent of different sizes...

I honestly didn't know that or more likely forgot it after school. Another point for Celsius.

That is exactly why it's annoying. I have a general idea of Celsius to farenheit just from living so close to the border but its still always weird to me how the conversion works.

As a European i only see fahrenheit online. Same with Miles, but atleast there i can math it out..

I know 60 MPH = 100 KPH, i got that memorized.

From that i can do 30mph/50kph and such, and get estimates.

I cant do that with Fahrenheit to Celsius. There are some figments ive gotten down (100 F is around Body Temp and i know Body Temp in C, and i know -30 and 40 are basically the same on both scales) but i cant math it out the same way.

Farenheit does seem to be the default online most of the time. A lot of the weather forecasts on the news here list both, at least during summer.

I'm similar since i know 32 and zero are the same, but mostly I just have the reference point from local weather that helps me.

A large portion of the easily accessable internet does seem to be very US based.. or atleast the sites i use.

Admittedly i get weather from the local news sites.. which are well local, so local wording (Danish) and temps.

The lack of consistency isnt helping either

TVs, Monitors, Phone Screens and all other kinds of displays are measured diagonally... in inches (Translated terms do exist, Danish is "Tomme/r" in fact). but Hardware temps (CPU GPU etc) are in Celsius.

Atleast they are basically international in that case (Anyone measure their CPU temps in Fahrenheit?) but its still a bit weird.

Big fucking deny.

When you are cold you can dress in layers and be at relative comfort. Even in -40 weather this is easily attainable.

When it is really hot you can be in a position where nothing you can do will be relief.
