It varies a little for me because I don't set an alarm, but it I typically wake up 2.5 to 3 hours before I head out the door.

My alarm hits at 3:37 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and I'm out the door at 5:40 so that is 2 hours early. The other two days it's off at 4:53 and I'm out at 5:40 so I guess 47 minutes.

That gives me enough time to poop, jog 5-7 miles, shower, eat, and pack up my lunch.

Who leaves for work anymore? It takes me 5 minutes between the time I wake up and the time I arrive at my desk to begin work.

Way back in the old days when I had to drive it was 25-30 minutes. Get up, shower, go.

I haven't commuted to work since March 2020. I do prefer to wake up 1-2 hours earlier than my official start time, but some days I stay in bed until I absolutely need to move. My weekday alarm is 6:30am for a typical 8:30am start.

My usual approach is to set my alarm for an hour before I need to leave, then snooze it for half an hour and rush through breakfast and whatnot. Working from home, though, there's no commute to consider, so I'll leave it much later and typically eat breakfast at my desk.

It depends on my shift. Most days I might wake up at 7 or so so I can get a few daily things done on FFXIV before I get ready for work. On days where I have to work 6a to 2p, however, I get up at 4:35, so I have the time to drag my almost-undead self through the shower, have breakfast, get dressed, and head out the door by 5:30.

Definitely depends. Sometimes, I wake up like an hour before. Sometimes, I wake up earlier and am up for quite a few hours earlier. Sometimes, I wake up at night and am up all night before I have to go to work

Depends on the job. I lived very close to one retail job and left home only 20 minutes before work. But when I worked nights with security I got up 4 hours early (my shift was 7pm but I got up at 3pm) then got work after 5. I used to relieve the day shift guard early and they'd return the favour. So after 5am I'd be leaving work instead of 7.

Oh I know. Just trying to rile people up on the internet, I suppose. :)

In all honesty I wish my department would identify an in-office day once per week so I could see the people I work with, but as is...I sit by myself at home. I COULD go in, but there's nobody there...so I don't see much of a reason to do so.

I don't miss the commute and I'm generally an introvert so I don't need a lot of interaction: I'm happy being here most of the time. Buut...SOME contact would be nice. Also, I used to be the "personable engineer" who could resolve disputes at in-person meetings: it's not quite so clear what purpose I have in this environment. Working on that.

I usually get up about 3-4 hours before I have to leave. I try to walk 2-3 miles every morning, that's about 40-60 minutes. More if I have to walk the dog.
