There are a lot of people very eager to label others and anything as anti vax. These are usually the same people who think it is extremely important to be vaccinated, but are very eager to yell and scream at people who express any small amount of vaccine hesitancy. No one has ever been convinced to get vaccinated by being yelled at. It just isn't helpful and it you feel you can only yell at people then just be quiet instead.

Like I absolutely get the frustration with anti vax types, but you need to express some patience with them otherwise you are only decreasing the odds they'll get vaccinated. Not that you were gonna convince them otherwise, but there is zero way you are helping by yelling at anyone.

This is my biggest issue. There's been no civil dialogue regarding this vaccine. Everyone's physiology and situation is different. Any time someone asks a question or makes a critical statement, they become the victim of childish name-calling and insults. I got warned for trolling of all things here not long ago because I raised numerous questions, of which I didn't get any answers. Just insults. These people love to praise science, but do a horrible job at defending it. They completely forget that the very foundation of science is built on challenging existing truths. But now with this vaccine, any kind of criticism is silenced. And to me, that ideology is scarier than anything this pandemic has brought forth.

The time for civility has long since passed. Only an idiot has hesitancy anymore. Worried about how fast it was created? Covid isn't a brand new virus. There have been versions of it before. Not enough testing? To get this far, a ton of testing had to be done. Worried about long term effects? Be more worried about Covid's known long term effects and the deadly short term effect of DEATH. And if for some stupid reason you are still worried, talk to real actual doctors and not facebook idiots.

I can't speak for everywhere, but for a long while now the official policy in my state has been "if you're vaccinated, you don't need a mask. If not, mask up." Last I looked, vaccination rates in my state are somewhere around 40%, maybe?

You know how many people are wearing masks right now? Probably in the 0-5% range.

It's one thing to not trust the vaccine; I personally think the hesitancy is stupid and born of conspiracy-laden bullshit, but you know ow what? if you're content to keep isolating, masking, and taking steps to stop the spread, then you do you. I'm not your dad, just don't get anyone ELSE sick.

But nope. these shitlords are going to restaurants, supermarkets, bars, concerts, parties, not a care in the fucking world. Unprotected, and flaunting it. Policies be damned, theres no enforcement. This whole charade has proven, in a nutshell, why the honor system is a load of shit. They're lying, spreading shit, creating environments for the virus to mutate and reset us back to square one, and are so hung up on their fedora-tipping "m'rights" that they forget that their right to swing their fist ends where someone else's face begins. And right now, their fists are the very air they're breathing.

"Oh, if you're protected, why do you care?" Because I resent the fact that my elderly, immunocompromised grandparents are essentially sentenced to perpetual solitary confinement so Tweedle D. Shitlord can pretend he's sticking it to Fauci or some crap.

Yeah I agree with every single reason you and I and many other vaccinated individuals have to feel frustrated by those who just aren't helping. I'm not saying I want to be friends with these types of people. I dislike them strongly. You did a great job outlining many reasons to disapprove of their behavior and attitudes.

I'm just saying that the reality of adding to the hostility of the situation by yelling at these anti vax types does nothing to accomplish the goal of getting people vaccinated. Even as much of a crap stain so many of these people are it just seems like treating them with just a little bit of civility could be beneficial at least when compared to just yelling at them.

If nothing else I mean, I've never felt great about myself after calling an anti vaxer an idiot. I've certainly freaked out on people over this. I'm not perfect and I more than understand the frustration and how easy it is to lose control. I just feel healthier and more level when I try not to think about the frustrating reality. There just isn't a ton I can do to alter it so I mostly need to live with it. Just be selective with who you associate with.

Yeah there is definitely a problem with people being eager to lash out. A lot of people miss the grey areas in things and are unforgiving of people who may just be trying to figure things out. So many just assume others are trolling and just troll back and no one is discussing the issue at hand.

And yeah discussions are a part of the scientific process and you're correct to point out that spouting insults just isn't scientific.

You don't have the qualifications to criticize the vaccine. Doing that rationally would take decades of study that you clearly don't have, because if you did, you'd have been beating down clinic doors to get it already. Like all actual scientists and doctors already did. Any questions you have could be addressed by a simple google search and selecting a reliable news source or reading a public health website. I guarantee your concerns aren't unique and there's nothing you're "worried" about that hasn't already been addressed a thousand times over. You're not some scientific genius that's come up with a question that never occurred to doctors, researchers, journalists, or public health experts.

The information is all readily available and has been the entire time. That's why we got the vaccine already. While you're sitting here complaining about having "questions", you're also helping variants develop by being unvaccinated, you're higher risk for helping the disease spread, etc.

It's a bad sign that you're asking random posters on Gamefaqs to answer your vaccine questions. That's the type of information gathering that's likely led to you being misinformed about the vaccine and latching on to some victimhood narrative.

Doctors who work in emergency rooms have found that almost all of their COVID-19 hospitalizations are unvaccinated people and have encouraged everyone to get vaccinated.

Not only are they doing that, they're trying their best to encourage other people to endanger themselves too. Everyone who spreads anti-vaccination conspiracy theory bullshit is essentially telling someone else to risk their lives.

Like, don't want to get vaccinated? Fine, just stay in your house. Don't go out to eat, don't go to sporting events or concerts or museums, don't travel.

But that's not what's going on. They're mingling with everyone and encouraging the spread of the virus further. It is not accurate to say that these people are anti-vaccination. The better way to describe them would be pro-COVID, because that is what they are.
