No, if there is a primary individual Im wanting to communicate with I might put their name first, but beyond that I dont really put much thought into the order

For work I would. At the very least in order of their rank. Idk if I'd bother with alphabetic for those of same rank.

I don't really ever have a need to send emails like that at my current rank though.

Absolutely.

There is the primary recipient, then I have to order the CC list, and even though only I will see it, the BCC list. And the order can vary wildly depending on what I am sending and who it is being sent to.

For work emails, absolutely.
The bosses and other higher ups go before everyone else, w/ the exception of if one person is the one I'm specifically directing the email to, then s/he goes first.
You just never know until you find out the hard way if one of your bosses is a petty enough ass hole to care about that sort of thing, so it's best to just play it safe.

Mostly just figuring out who to send the mail to, who to CC, and who to BCC.

yeah, i like to order things such that if somebody is confused by why they got the e-mail the other names near theirs will establish the context. so essentially if im sending out an e-mail to 3 groups of people plus some random one-offs I'll put the groups together.
