Pennywise is a manifestation of the Deadlights

The Deadlights are way way over there.
Pennywise is right here. Make sense?

Thats what a proxy is. Like a subsidiary of an umbrella company. Thats Pennywise. Is he technically the Deadlights? Yes & No

I don't believe so. They are not over there. IT broke through the barrier of the tower and made Derry his little hidiehole. The deadlights are sorta his true form and that is why they appear and the kids can look at them. If they existed outside of reality they could not. This is btw taken from Lovecraft where looking at the form of those monsters drives you mad or kills you.

Thats what the Ritual of Chud is for.

An entity who only consumes is the definition of a being the anti-thesis to existence. Thats the point. The Turtle is creation. The Deadlights are destruction. Life & Death ~

They are not a minor demon or random monster anything like that. Thats what makes the story so interesting, because its just like this silly clown. But it ends up being the most direct manifestation of the apocalypse god. What the people cannot do is destroy the Deadlights nor can they access them normally. If the Deadlights were fully brought into this reality, it would mean complete chaos & instant destruction. Thats the story.

What? There was no trying to get the deadlights into this reality in that story. He just wanted to feed.

The turtle is a guardian of the tower beams. The one who wanted to bring chaos to the world was the Crimson King and they are not even the anti-thesis of life, they just thought for some reason they would still be ruler once all the monsters from the dark space came and feasted on reality.

Infact, IT kinda only eats till he is full. How is that the anti-thesis of life?

Yes, Three-lobed eye of the Baphomet, Haunter of the Dark, avatar of Nyarlathotep & Azathoth ~ You mentioned Lovecraft.

From the wiki
As children, Bill is the only one to engage with It, being thrust toward the Macroverse, heading to the Deadlights, but his physical body remains put. He speeds by the Turtle, who only offers advice that "you must help yourself, son,"

on the Ritual of Chud that allows them to access the Deadlights & ultimately sever its link with Pennywise

Pennywise is just a really powerful monster from Todash. He's not particularly important.

The monsters in the Mist were from the same place.

Pennywise - Yes. He is just particularly old & particularly powerful for a Todash monster on Earth.

The Deadlights - No. The Deadlights are an eternal force that always consumes while the turtle creates.

Later extensions of that mythology imply that branches of the Deadlights send things to Todash for consumption.

I really love this rendition of that mythology. Everybody can be right! (sort of) King was a genius.

I was referring to his true Deadlights form, which is just a form of energy in the Todash. Energy that can be wielded like magic by dudes like CK.

I've never seen anything saying he serves as some eternal force or has any eternal purpose. Neither does Maturin, who is not a creator. He's a Guardian. He spit out the main universe becsuse he was feeling sick, but he too is just another Todash monster.

I really dont feel like digging, but the concept of the World Turtle creating the universe simply
because he was sick has a lot more implications than it sounds. Writing it off casually that the Turtle is not meant to be a representation of God & cold hard reality would be bad faith at best.

Ill leave you with The Turtle regards the Deadlights as his brother, assigning them as an entity & reinforcing the opposition to itself. Thats really all you should need to know. What King may or may not have done with the lore regarding the Crimson King & the Deadlights is not as simple as people make it sound either. For example, the Pennywise monster uses the Deadlights.... but the Deadlights are located elsewhere. Thats complicated.

@Xethuminra

I get what you're saying in that it is not as straight forward, but it is the gist of it to me and many others and how we've understood it. I understand some see things differently.

Maturin is not really supposed to be God. God is involved as a totally different being.

Furthermore, Maturin and Pennywise being referred to as "brothers" doesn't really negate what I said. Maturin is treated as a Guardian of one of the beams and created just one universe, not all of reality. Pennywise is a simarly powerful bad guy.

I defer you to this article concerning the group of deities he is referencing. Coincidence?

Of course, there may be other worlds, but if they dont really exist, why would they need a God, beginning, or an end anyway?? This is the crux of the unique struggle between the Turtle, the Tower, humans & the darkness in the primary magnum opus.

I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to say anymore. That article even states it's use in Stephen King's work is being Pennywise's archenemy and nothing about what you're saying.

Gan is God anyway. And other universes do exist. Guess we're gonna have to agree to disagree on the rest.

Of course it does. What a shocker!

Other universes besides Earth exist.. but theyre
not real. Thats what dreams are for, right? I thought this was Lovecraftian. Yes. Clearly, were on two entirely different pages. Are you confused yet?
