I always thought they didn't work because employees were to lazy to make the shakes. But didn't realize how screwed up the machines themselves are.

The machines suck ass.

I worked at McDonald's when I was in High School, and that shit was down constantly. If the temperature of the cream is even one degree off, the entire.machine has to reset, which takes hours.

It's a little of column A and a little of column B. The machines are not great and quite temperamental. However, because the upkeep and daily maintenance is a pain a lot of stores don't maintain them like they should, leading to more breakdowns.

So not that they are too lazy to make the shakes, but they are possibly too lazy to keep it in working order.
