Yes. The campaigns have the potential to always be fun as long as more is constantly added over the game's life spans. (Some of those mutation combos is brutal. My crew had one where it was triple the amount of crows+fog in that one map where you have to go through the little forest area...lost all of our continues in that spot alone, lol), but the pvp part imo kind of blows. (The devs also have no intention of adding a left 4 dead'ish campaign versus, which is what the vast majority of fans want, so they are possibly shooting theirselves in the foot with admitting that they will not add one out in the open/before the game releases).

I did have it pre-ordered to play the beta, but after I played it I actually called up sony and cancelled it, lol. Don't know if I feel like paying full price just to play the campaign part.

The character movement feels floaty. Not a fan of the car system. It's an unnessesary thing. Think they are going to sell nicer cards in mtx in the future

I enjoyed the several hours I played, it feels like a nice evolution of the L4D gameplay to modern times. The cards felt like they add good variability and the various guns I tried all felt good.

The campaign time being almost an hour long to complete might be a limiting factor for me though. I think the ~20min runs from the previous game were kind of the sweet spot for me, its hard for me to dedicate a full uninterrupted hour to gaming these days.

Ill have to try the PvP when the beta opens again today, I didnt try it over the weekend, but Im not terribly interested in the PvP anyway. Didnt really care for it in L4D2, its just not what Im looking for in this kind of game.

I personally thought it felt worse than L4D2. The swarms are not big at all which is disappointing and I don't like the special infected. I also do not like how your characters get absolutely covered in blood because during a swarm it becomes difficult to tell if I'm hitting my teammates or not with melee. The card system is whatever, I hope that they do more than just manipulate what spawns in the levels, like they change the layout and open a new path or block an old one or something.

Tag. I just saw the open beta was available this weekend and will probably check it out this evening. L4D2 is one of, if not my favorite game of all time. This is by far my most hyped upcoming release.

Hearing there is no versus is kind of a bummer though. Thank god for game pass.

No couch co-op is a major drawback. Supposedly they said they would like to add that feature after launch, but they didn't provide a timetable.

I like the beta but L4D is definitely better. I'll probably get back 4 blood at 20 or less for all content or just forget it. I still go back to L4D2 relatively often especially with the mod community which back 4 blood wont have.

They desperately need campaign style l4d versus, the scavenge versus is awful and campaign will get tired quick.

I tried to play campaign on any difficulty other than the easiest with random, and it's a miracle if we get beyond the third stage. Constant friendly fire, bird shooting, setting allies on fire...

The bridge mission and planting bombs is probably the death knell for a lot of random pickup games. The idea of splitting into two fireteams to rush past enemies on the ship is an alien concept to most. Like, the AI bots which tether themselves to players would be better support than random players online.
