Turns out it's only easy to avoid eating badly if I just buy zero junk food and I still eat like four glazed, jelly-filled croissants in a day if I have access to them <_<

I'm the same way. If I don't want to eat a tub of ice cream I have to keep it out of the house. It's an addiction for me and basic addictive behavior. Counting calories only works if you can keep to it.

They had them at work. I justified the first one by saying I hadn't eaten breakfast. It was a local bakery, so I had to kinda guess at the calories. Dunkin' Donuts sells a similar thing that' 300, so I figured that wasn't too bad. Then I took home three with the idea I'd eat them over the next few days.

And now I've eaten all of 'em with the rationalization that I may as well get them outta the way so I can follow it the next two days instead <_<

Do all your willpower at the supermarket so you don't have to at home.

As for work things...you just gotta set some rules. I guess just what worked for me is understanding the cost/benefit a little better. Like I like donuts, but do I really like donuts so much that I'm prepared to let a couple of donuts ruin my week's plan? I don't like donuts that much.

Don't be discouraged for doing it once though. Everyone does that. Important thing isn't falling off the wagon, it's getting back on.

People give themselves too hard a time with diet and fitness willpower. It's something you build, not just a core facet of your personality that you have or don't have.

The trouble is that I do like donuts that much lol.

I'm not beating myself up too badly about it, I've just had a lot of days lately where I've gone over. The flipside is that I went like six months straight without going over.

Alright see you stuck with the plan for 6 months and then had one off day, that sounds like an overall big win to me!

As I've cleaned up my diet over time, things like this have gotten easier for me. I just don't really crave donuts anymore. If I did I would make room for it.

Bring your own food to work and resolve to only eat that. Only thing that works for me.
