Yeah but in PAL territories for Enter the Gecko this wasn't the case. He was even marketed in a tux and with hot women. He constantly quipped like James Bond.
The weird thing is in the first game Dana Gould was used everywhere but I guess he didn't talk much there. But wasn't Crystal Dynamics European? I wonder how all of this happened. I guess because the references needed to be localised for each territory but this method is really extreme. He's basically a different character.

I don't think it was overly difficult but it's pretty janky compared to the popular 3D platformers of the time.

the 1st from what i remember is kinda aggravating since its a side scroller and some parts is tough. The other two arent as bad. But mostly just janky with the camera tryin to killa in spots.

I wonder if the whole 'different regions have different versions of Gex' thing is a weird barrier for them. Although it could easily be an option these days.

Surprised they haven't even done a remaster of Enter the Gecko. Although the references would be very dated these days. A video game where levels are based on stuff on television almost sounds quaint.

Too be honest. the jokes would either be censored or PCd to hell and back. But i would love a gex trilogy remaster though. Like crash did

fun fact. Deep cover gecko was changed on N64 also. Cant remember the reason but its got cut content different the playstation
