https://www.yahoo.com/news/biden-promises-to-hunt-down-terrorists-behind-devastating-kabul-attack-220247134.html

To those who carried out this attack, as well as anyone who wishes America harm, know this we will not forgive, we will not forget, we will hunt you down and make you pay, the president said in a somber White House address.

This sounds a lot like Bushs speech in response to the 9/11 attacks. This ushered in a twenty year conflict that pretty much ruined an entire generation of people. All financial resources went to the war and our infrastructure is broken. Our country and its citizens cannot take another twenty years of war.

Is this war never going to be over??

Terrible that this happened. Seems like a convenient excuse for us to go right on back to Afghanistan.
Thats whats got me worried. I read something earlier, by Trumps national security advisor, who was basically saying that we needed to double down and start extending our military presence to Central Asia and start fighting the taliban and other resistance groups who are fighting the taliban.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/mc-master-on-afghanistan-carnage-what-we-saw-today-is-just-the-beginning-185143366.html

Its time to bring the soldiers home and start focusing our financial resources on our country and its citizens. There will always be conflict in foreign nations, but this world police thing needs to stop. Youve got an entire generation of people who work multiple jobs to stay out of debt and its time we focus on them.

No, the generation of people who have been forced to work slave hours for unlivable wages. The generation who will never own property or retire. The generation that lives in fear of going to the hospital over the bills. The generation of people who is pretty much praying for an end of all this strife.

The Taliban are letting Americans leave. They are blocking the Afghans from leaving but that's a different issue.

Once again, its not our responsibility to subject our citizens to two decades of war to bring westerns civil rights to another country who never asked us to be there. How are you still even trying to argue this?

One entire generation ruined to bring our western ideals to a foreign country, knowing that they will only exist as long as our occupation of the nation continues. Yeah, not worth it. Sorry, but its not.

This is like the most American thing ever to take the suffering of people caused by America in another country and turn it around and make it about America's completely unrelated domestic problems.

Your reading comprehension must not be that great if this is what you think. Nobody called 9/11 a cash grab. I was clearly talking about the twenty year war that it started. Its almost like youre not even reading the topic and just posting whatever you want.

What are we talking about when we say "war" here? The Afghanistan situation was stable, or a stalemate at best for a fair amount of years. The Afghan army was doing a majority of the fighting (and dying) beating back the Taliban with our air support and PMC's.

The troop level in the Afghan region (around 2,500-3,500) was far less in areas than say, in South Korea, Italy, or even Germany. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/14/world/asia/us-troops-afghanistan.html

Afghanistan was a 50 plus year project that ended up being an impossibility because the Wealthy world that had sunk resources into the project wanted it done in a decade and viewed any more time spent after that as a waste of time and manpower. If we had just thrown money at the various sub-groups and their individual leadership of the nation they might have invested it better rather than try to turn the country into some centralized mess where little money seemed to leave Kabul and a few of the other cities.

We went to Afghanistan because of 9/11. So the only it you can refer to is calling 9/11 a cash grab because you are that much of a shit poster who can't think anything through. And why you want to blame all your personal failures on Afghanistan.

That dude is literally a shill for establishment Democrats:

In February 2020, Carville suggested jettisoning the Democratic presidential primaries and caucuses, letting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi select the Democratic Party's presidential and vice-presidential candidates, and suggested Mitt Romney should "resign from the Senate to save the Democratic Party's ass, and run our convention." Carville further added he might cast a write in vote for Nancy Pelosi when he votes in Louisiana.

Makes me worried that something will happen again. I stand by Bidens decision to withdraw from Afghanistan, but his words today sounded like the preamble to a declaration of war. The twenty year was hurt our economy and citizens enough, and we cannot stand to double down on war again. Its time to bring it home and restore normalcy for the citizens here.
