ive been missing being really into horror media, theres not any good horror games out these days so im tryna find other sources for spooky stuff. im extremely new to podcasts in general, and the only horror podcast ive almost fully listened to was the magnus archives, and im also now working my way through welcome to night vale(though i dont know if id consider this HORROR horror). but i want some spooky recommendations pls and thanks

The Last Podcast on the Left is a comedy podcast that focuses on the horrific acts that humans commit on one another, highlighting the exploits of serial killers and mass murderers, with a spattering of UFO/cryptid discussion tossed in, it might be my favorite podcast.

For a more factual, down to earth, and historical based perspective on human committed atrocities, theres no podcast that rivals Dan Carlins Hardcore History. His research is insanely detailed, and his style of story telling is theater of the mind, its really easy to get lost in the stories he tells and he covers a range of topics that may include topics youve heard of such as the Rise and Fall of the Roman Republic, the mongol conquest led by Ghengis Khan, various series on World Wars 1 and 2, as well as lesser known stories like the Anabaptist takeover of Muenster, or deep dives into single topics like the spectacle of public execution.

These are by far my top two podcasts of all time, independent of content covered, but they lean toward the more horrific things that real humans are capable of.

The Internet Archive has a treasure trove of classic horror radio shows that are fun to listen to.

yeah this is the kind of stuff im looking for. i should have been more specific in that im looking for spooky fiction and stories and whatnot. i fucking LOVED the magnus archives and i really want to find something similar

I think Alan Resnick/Wham City had a podcast at some point, or maybe it was like a weekly YouTube livestream or something...I also recall the YT channel Night Mind advertising a podcast at some point, I'll do some research and get back to you on this

We Hate Movies has good horror movie episodes. Stuff You Should Know and also Invisible Choir have good criminal investigation episodes.
