I still need to beat the DLC and Gwyn, not sure what to do first. Also my game might be broken because I can't purchase Large Titanite from the blacksmith in Anor Londo despite people saying it was patched in (I'm playing the "remaster")

Pros: lore, level design, environments, a few of the boss battles (Sif, O&S... uhhhh), the progression (from finding new embers later in the game to events like receiving the Lordvessel and unlocking fast travel)

Cons: Most of the boss battles, tedious/annoying gameplay during some of the levels (Blightown has got nothing on Lost Izalith and Tomb of the Giants, and some of the runs to bosses were just unnecessary), the overuse of claustrophobic/cramped areas to fight in, no option to respec

I have heard the DLC is very good so that might boost the score a bit. Probably my least favorite Souls game (haven't played Demon's Souls) with DS2 being slightly higher (maybe lower after I beat Gwyn + the DLC). Bloodborne, DS3 and Sekiro are all 9.5/10 easily.

Dark Souls is still a pretty good game despite its potential position as worst SoulsBorne game (relative to the others). I think I will go play the others once I'm done the DLC because they are simply more fun. Thank you for reading my professional review I hope you enjoyed it

Beating the final boss boots you directly into NG+, so I'd probably do the DLC first.
