I mean science spit out 3 separate vaccines at break neck pace in the US alone and we're occupying one less country. The price of alternatives such as wind and solar are still on the way down and the hottest car on the market is electric.

Our future won't be as awesome as some in the past but if you think about it, it won't be as horrible as those ahead of us. Enjoy that you're right in the middle of "at least I didn't have to live through THAT bullshit"

Climate change caused 4 out of 5 of the last major mass extinctions. What makes you think we're going to "fix" it? If the earth is warming up and we're helping it get warmer, there is no reversing the effect. We can slow it down but if the planet wants to warm up and melt ice poles, it will do that. If the earth wants to cool off and blanket half of the available land in ice, it'll do that, too.

Yeah, I guess we could subsidize harder but even given the current state of things

Coal is being pushed off the power grid by competition from cheaper, cleaner energy sources, as well as rising public alarm about climate change and state policies meant to reduce emissions. Nationally, coal supplied just a quarter of the countrys electricity last year, down from nearly half in 2010, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

Consider this: even if we managed to go to space, zero gravity wrecks our bone structure, space radiation wrecks our immune system AND women that have gone to space for an extended period of time have came back to earth STERILE because of the radiation constantly berating their bodies while they are not protected by Earth's atmosphere. Our future is pretty fucking bleak no matter HOW you look at it.

Just play some games and chill out this shit don't matter. What's the dream really? Eventually Bezos is going to own all the houses and there won't be any left to buy anyway.

There are some really smart people out there that I think will figure it out once they get enough world support. Humans aren't exactly like the other organisms they came before.

The warming of the earth has to do with it's proximity to the Sun. Some years we get closer to it, some years we drift further away. All of this cycles in and out over the 4-5 billion years Earth has been chilling in this orbit. There is literally nothing we can do sub going underground or fly off into space that will change this. We cannot alter our orbit and even if we could, it would be immoral to do so. The outrage of people coming down on the ONE person that's going to change our orbit forever would be tremendous. There's no way it would be done.

You don't think greenhouse gases have anything to do with it?

Green house gasses ceasing will only slow the warming of the earth. The cycle itself is inevitable.

Yeah, it actually is. Orbital axis and global positioning to the sun as the Earth rotates around it changes heat on a yearly cycle. Factoring in solar flares and heat intensity and yeah, people don't have much to do with the earth heating up after all.
